Today we are doing what we have to do—meeting with them, providing our support and belief in their efforts and telling their story about the hardship and conditions they live with every day of their lives.
They apologized to us for how poor they are, for how they have to live, and for the only accommodations they had to offer us.
They shared with us their concerns about the lack of food and education for their children. We can see and hear their despair.
We, the people of OPTCO and the farmers, have put our faith in each other, trusting that we will each do what is necessary to improve their lives and the lives of their children. read more >
